Rose, in the 1841 census, there were two people listed in the household of my 3 x gt. grandfather, and I was certain they were not his children. Have been battling with this for 2 1/2 years to prove my point. Recently, have found, with a little help, that one was his neice. Still one to go, but am sending to Northants Records for some additional information re any records they may hold about apprentices at that time. |

Rose, I keep most of my information on copious amounts of paper as a back up. In fact, I have not really got a tree on here or anywhere else for that matter. It is in boxes, files, and in me 'ead. |

Stella, finding all of mine has been emotional, so I know what you mean. Recently learned that a Gt.Gt. aunt, who I had spent yonks trying to find, because I wanted to believe that this lady had had some sort of a life, possibly got married and had children etc.,actually sailed to Singapore and married a sea captain, well into her forties. However, at the fall of Singapore in 1942, she was offered a safe passage to Australia, by the Japanese, only for the ship to be sunk by the Japanese Navy , when she must have been in her 80's. I have yet to find any official records for her, or her sister and the sisters husband who went to Penang. But, hey ho, onwards and upwards, I'll keep on with my search. |

That 25 years must be very frustrating Budgie, somewhere there will be someone who knows I am sure but I can see ( as my mum was born only a little later) that time is not on your side for finding the info. |
