Hi Guys
thanks for all the info I am not too worried about my info being on here i dont mind people knowing my real name it is my relative who googled their name that the issues is about they are sensative about their information being given out and quite rightly so Genes should ensure that the filters are working correctly so that this situ does not happen again. I have emailed all those that i have given access to tonight to advise of situ and asked they do not publish thie info on any site that can be accessed by the public. like you say most of them if not all will respond to this I have no worries about that. thank you for your support but I wil still be leaving the site it has caused a problem that I may not be able to rectify and I may have lost my only close living relative because of this that is how serious it is.

Fian, you also need to be aware that when I click on your name to send a PM your full name appears in the bax, the same if you send a reply, so you could also look at changing that while you are at it.

I have just spent the last 24hrs trying to sort out a mess caused by the system malfunction of the privacy option for my tree. I thought I was hiding living relations and have been happily allowing access to people who have a confirmed link. however it has still been showing living relatives and it has caused a rift in my family as the people concerned are furious that their details have been put on a website of one of my relations. not the person's fault as they where unaware that they should not have had access to this information. PLEASE check that if you have this option on your tree that it is working properly before you allow other people access. I have contacted genes tonight to let them know and to ask them to check this out. I am furious with them for this total mess they have caused it will be families dis united if I cant get this mess sorted out.
