Thanks for the info Lindy. How is your neice ?

When is your hubby on holiday - I know how you love your couple of weeks lazing by the pool enjoying the hot weather.

We are off to France 16th August - staying a ight at San Sebastion and a night in La Rochelle before going to our friends in Plumeleau and probably starting our way back home 24th August. BUT before all that hopefully having kitchen revamped - now that will be a MESS BIG TIME !!

Hope you and the family are well.
Take care
Love Mary xx

Hiya Mary,

My niece is better thank you and so are the others that also got the flu, thankfully it bypassed our mum.

This year Vitor has to take holidays in August as his boss has decided that it is too expensive to keep the kitchen open and cleaning ladies around for a handful of staff.

Normally he takes three weeks in July as August is the hottest month of the year so we are going to have to be real careful with the sun. We have not gone away for three summers now but hopefully next year we will be able to take another trip to Brazil.

Enjoy your holiday in France although I am told that it is very expensive to holiday over there.

I won't say enjoy revamping the kitchen...lol...as it sounds like hard work.

Take care

Love and hugs

Lindy ;)))

It has taken forever to add this post :(

Joan,

I don't think that it will be any different over here. Last week we had just over one hundred people infected but I stopped counting.

It has not yet reached the critical stage but they are warning people that only the critically ill will be hospitalized.

Personally, I think that the precautions we take in our own homes will not really help as nobody can isolate themselves from the rest of the population. One of my sons is in daily contact with tourists and my OH works in a school.

Although on holiday at the moment schools open in September and that is when they are expecting the worst.

We have been told that if anyone gets the swine flu to stay at home in quarantine and not to come into contact with others. We are four adults at home three of whom work, so that means if I get the flu the three males at home don't go to work? For how long, if they do, or don't get infected for another week or so.

Then the big question that everyone is asking and the government is not answering is, are the workers that are in quarantine going to get paid for the days that they are off work, but not ill. Salaries over here are lousy to start will and taking a two week pay cut because of quarantine is going to make a lot of people unhappy.

Kitchen duty calls and I have put the ironing off for too long, sigh....be back much later.
