My 3 x great grandparents were run over by a Coach and Four in 1808. The note made by the Clergyman who took their funeral states-
'They were on their horse and cart(being farmers) and 15 miles out of Romford Market, a Coach and Four passed by with shouting and noises, and their horse bolted, throwing them out, the Coach ran over them, killing him outright, and she lived a couple of hours'

My OH said - Road Rage in those days as well.

Hi Brian,

How Spooky.!!!
Sometimes if you look into something you can see a possible explanation.
Maybe the lady knocked down by motor bike was preoccupied thinking of her son resulting in the sad events.
I dont mean it was her fault.
On the whole though, I think you should be careful ........!!!!!!!

In another spooky co-incidence, after getting the death certificate for 1926, I got a copy of the inquest report which revealed that one of her sons had been killed in Belgium exactly eleven years before, to the day.

But furthermore, when I located his death record on CWGC and Ancestry, his service number matched the security code on our car which we bought in 1999.

Will I be the first to have the bad taste to say "Well, well, well"?

What a coincidence.
I haven't found any accidents in our family.

Most of ours so far seem to have died of things like pneumonia or bronchitis.

I received the death certificate today for my wife's great grandmother.
She died in 1926 after being knocked down by a motorbike.

Her great grandfather on the other side of the family died in 1928 after being knocked off his cycle by a car.

(Another relation of hers died in 1994 after being knocked down by a motorcycle.)

But having two great grandparents (or two out of my mother in law's four grandparents) both dying from separate road accidents within two years and half a mile of each other must be pretty unique !
