I have washed: tissues, banknotes, a lighter (not a problem until it ended up in the tumble-drier), spare change, lottery tickets. I always check my pockets, but sadly my family do not.

Oh I forgot the boiled sweets.

Usually a sticky mess, that just does not come out of the pockets

Once, when I was small, Mum bought dad some steak for his tea,( big treat in those days )

When she came to cook it, found it floating around with the sheets in our old fashioned copper boiler. She fished it out ,rinsed it of f, and cooked it for him. I dont know what it tasted like, but he didn't grumble.

To date, Ihave washed various its of hardware, hubbys overalls, one pocketful of worms, toddlers pocket, an alarm clock and once, very nearly, a kitten!!

I believe my mother washed many worms in her time. Not from my pockets, but my obnoxious brother, who by the way, still is, as far as I am concerned

Friend at work washed a 4X£20 notes in her jeans, totally forgot about it and hung washing on the line, then at 3 in the afternoon suddenly jumped up and said Oh No! (or words to that effect!)

She rang home ,but kids not home from school, then made her husband go all the way home to check- he was closer.

It was still there and in good condition- and laundered!! lol
