has anyone tried to book a sun holday and failed to get the one you wanted dont get me wrong they are good value for money I tried booking on line but could not get a connection so I contacted the sun and asked why I could not book on line as they say in the paper And was told you can only book on line if you had a priority booking form sent by post which means that the people that book on line have an unfair advantage of getting the place they want unlike the rest of us who have to wait for the post

Have booked but sent form by post my sister goes for weekend on sun hol every year so have priority bookin. Just the once i failed to get my 1st or 2nd choice. Like a fool i fancied somewhere different so went to Camber Sands ( didnt know any one who had been there so had no recommendation) The camp site was vile, dirty & nothing to do!

People get priority as they have booked before. I suppose its a sort of loyalty perk. We used to get our form around a few days before the tokens appeared in the paper to collect.

We used to do Sun holidays until the kids got bigger & we couldn't really take them out of school anymore

What some people dont realise is that parks labelled as
skegness, skegness,
Bognor, Bognor
& Minehead, Minehead

Are actually Butlins, and although you pay for your entertainment passes, it can prove to be quite a cheap break if you make your packed lunches & have take away from outside for a few nights rather than eat in their quite expensive resort restaurants.
I found these resorts better than Haven parks etc for entertainment value.

Also remember when you pick your parks, choose your places with care, and with a little research, but remember like most places, slightly out of season, accomodation may be a bit tired and entertainment may be a bit lax. - but ity will still be cheaper than if you book at full price :o))

Wall Park Devon was our sons first holiday at 2 years old (now 14) & we went with The Sun holidays.

It wasnt brilliant, but it was ok. especially what cost us around £75 altogether for a then family of 3 (including lesiure passes) & on the day of leaving was talking to another family who paid over £200 for the same break....they wasnt impressed LOL !

Getting a priority booking form doesnt automatically mean you will get your first, or even your second choice, or even your third if you state you only want the parks specified.

A popular park on sought after dates, or even just the dates (I know some slip into the peak summer season) sell out fast.

One year we never got our first 3 choices but we did specify as a back up any park. & thats when we realised we had been given Butlins although we wouldnt have realised by the booking form at the time, when the confirmation came through with great big headed note paper saying BUTLINS the penny dropped LOL !
