who are friends with others that I have no time for.

That does not worry me, it does not affect my friendship for said person. We each find aspects of personality attractive or otherwise in everyone we come into contact with.

The people who are my friends are those who have given me laughter, support and 'steadfastness' in their dealings with me.

I have respect for many who I wouldn't personally 'get on with' , likewise I have 'got on with' people I have little 'respect' for ( I do not KNOW them well enough to know whether they should have my respect as such ) ...I 'get on' with the window cleaner in that I can have a polite and interesting conversation with him lol.

I respect people who say what they believe in a reasoned manner, whether I agree with them or otherwise. I 'like' people who sometimes put their foot in their mouth , I like people who say sometimes what I am thinking even if it is a bit sharp or scathing lol.

I could give you a list of people on here that I like, those that I respect, those that I find amusing company on the boards, those that I could hold an hours conversation with...or a lifetime of conversations....

With me, I am the same off this board as I am on. What you see is what you get, it is not ALL there is though. Only the very closest to me get near enough to know my secret hopes, fears, etc...and very few of those know 'everything'...maybe no one actually lol.

Well most people know I speak with some GR members who associate with a couple of members I dislike.

Those people have never upset me personally and so I continue to speak to them and I am thankful that they still speak with me even though I can be very harsh about their friend.

However, if someone has something to say, just say it and stand by it. Don't insinuate, play victim or stir like hell then delete when the replies aren't those you wanted. Also the silence is deafening from the lack of support for these posters from their friends is so evident it does make me wonder why they keep on subjecting themselves to criticism.

Keith I will send you my window cleaner , but be prepared, he talks for Britain...today we went through ...bootfairs, antiques, art forgeries, WDYTYA, family trees, the decline of TV programme standards... I was glad when the phone rang and I 'escaped' lol

My Mum's window cleaner was my local councillor, and the local Mayor.
