Eldrick Report 28 Jul 2009 20:44

I'm thinking ahead (obviously many years into the future) and wondering which deserving cause to leave my considerable wealth to.

I favour an animal type thing, but not quite sure which one. Then again, there's some deserving Thirld World organisations that could use a bit of a leg up as well I suppose.

Then there's my wordly goods - who would benefit most from the contents of my wine cellar and collection of vintage motor cars, I wonder. It's all a bit of a dilemma for me.

I made mine years ago - must get it updated!
At the moment my children go to their father - along with all their pets!
I feel they may be a little miffed, at the ages of 29 and 26 to have to go and live with their father now!

He may not be too happy either!

Yes, I have... left all my debts to my sons.... and the cats (not the debts to the cats, but the cats to my sons)....... but I have had to change it recently because of a certain person giving a link to a very touching piece of music.... now want to be sent off to that *say goodbye* thingy instead of *all things bright and Beautiful* sung by St Winifred's school choir.

Joking aside.............My friend died but hadn't signed her will .Her ex husband got the Bloody lot(Pardon me for swearing)Her 2 kids aged 16 ,18 were basically left homeless. It is so important to make your will.

Hope I haven't put a spoke in the thread ,but I have strong feelings on this...after seeing the devastation it can cause (if no will)

Of course I've made a Will: where there's a way there's a Will and boy will my Will make some poor smuck happy! there will be several disappointed folk of course, but they never deserved my largesse anyway. I cant wait to see their faces (I shall of course be looking upwards, and not down from a great height) ))))

I'm sure Muffy would be most appreciative of the contents of your wine cellar :-)

Jac Report 28 Jul 2009 21:09

Could you leave it to next door's kids instead Sheila? that might bring his into line a bit, especially if you leave a Draft Copy of said Will around for them to "find" ))))

Helen.... our wills have been made and regularly updated as our circumstances changed... I am actually perfectly serious about the music change when I do eventually turn up my toes... I had to change it cos one of our beneficiaries died without issue (our 18 year old cat, Belle) so it was a simple matter to alter the format of the service as well.

Some folk think it's macabre, but hey... I like to plan a good party, lolol

I have made a Will, and although I plan to be around for many many decades yet, I thought it best to write one, not only to make sure my final wishes come true and the people and charities I choose benefit, but also to stop the people I do not wish to recieve anything claiming anything thats mine.

FLUMP Report 28 Jul 2009 22:19

As I'm Known in my lovely family lovingly as our batty mum, when i told them I was going to plan n pay for my own funeral, and be a skier they laughed, until they realized i meant it! but I intend to be around until I'm at least 86 before i even think about popping off, of which I have no fear, only how i pop off
but tonight I think my Granddaughter was trying to inherit Early! first the Carousel then the Crazy Hopper at the fair as on one else would go on with her and she wanted some fun memory's of doing FUN things with me,It was like been between a frog and a swooping seagull.I haven't screamed like that for years,It was great fun.Seriously A Will is the only way to make sure things are done AS YOU WANT.x
