My little Grandson spent the night with us last night and was as good as gold , we took him to our boat today and " Grand-dad " bought him a nice new life jacket . He was having fun trying to catch little fish in his net. He suddenly let out a loud and shocking scream........he was stung on the back of his neck by a wasp......it had slipped down the back of the life jacket !!

Poor little blighter........I hope it hasn't put him off the boat for life.

OMG Amanda!! I read that this is the week to watch out for wasps. Poor little mite....he is obviously not cut out for the high seas:-) lol BCXX

Aww, what a shame poor wee lad :((
I hope he is ok now and got over the shock and hasnt blamed the new jacket.

All he kept saying sobbing was " why did it sting me Nanny ?? I wasn't doing anything to it " : (

I bet we are in for tons of the rotton things this year !!

Has anyone got any idea what purpose a wasp serves. They seem to get even angrier than I do lol.

I told my little grandchildren a lovely story about bees and how they produce honey and how hard they work and how we should not disturb them when they are working....

*gulps....I forgot to tell them about the Nasty Wasps!!!

Oddly enough he also asked me " why did God make wasps ?? "....which I must admit quite took me back a bit as we aren't very inclined to mention " the Creator ".........best answer I could come up with to say I think they are the work of the Devil...............lol

I have to say that I did laugh at your explanation to G son as to why Wasps were created.....You could be right :-))
