the in between years from 1915 - 1983 arn,t transcribed yet .although FreeBMD does go beyond 1915 for some deaths.
You have to search each year by the quarter for the records so thats 40 searches for a ten year period.

It seems to me that you have covered all the years in your post. It seems strange that you cannot find any records at all.
Dont forget that records after 1916 on Ancestry are not transcribed and you will need to view each image.
Can you give us his name so we can check for you?

I am trying to find a death record for my Grandfather who I believe died around about 1960. I have searched and searched on ancestry.co.uk records and can find no death records for not only his surname but any surnames (and I have tried numerous just to check) I try for the period 1916-1983. Records for 1837-1915 & 1984-2005 come up but nothing for the inbetween years. Is there something I should know or am i just going mad???? Any help would be appreciated!
