Just an update - from the thread on the Chat board, it seems new member I and Roy were the only lucky recipients of Chendi's PM!

The messages are now gone from my inbox, and when I clicked the html link for Chendi's name (which I had included in my email to GR), the account was dead.

Of course, who knows how many non-active members could have received it before that. But I like to think me 'n Roy are special. ;)

We old hands can just be on guard for this and notify management right away if it ever happens again, to nip it in the bud.

When I wake up, you'll all probably have got your PMs from Chendi.

I started a thread in Chat to make sure that everybody knows this is a scam. You never know. People really do fall for it. Someone here who had never seen a 419 scam letter posted a query about it in Chat just after I did.

I've copied my PM to GR there, along with info and advice about 419 scammers.

Just wanted to make sure as many people as possible know what's going on as soon as possible.

It's a scam.

First time I've ever seen one here!
