had apack from the N.H.S. thru the post for bowl cancer ,as my friend got one

Yes, I had one last year and my husband sent his second one off on Monday and the letter saying he is clear has just come in the post this morning.

You usually get them just after you are 60 and then every two years until you are 70. After 70 you are not sent them automatically but you can request a test if you want one.

Neither me Or OH have received one . OH should be checked cos his Mum and maternal grandad both had bowel cancer. He has been checked in the last two years for bleeding in that area. and nothing untoward found so maybe they think he doesn't need rechecking.but I haven't had any contact and am over 70
Maybe our ages where past the criteria when they started them

AnnX - I think the pack arrives on or about your birthday!

I rang up about mine as a friend had received hers and I hadnt, and was told I would receive in on my 62nd birthday, and I did! lovely present)))))

Did the test, sent it off and got all clear.

OH is not yet 62 and he hasnt received a pack as yet - I assume he'll get his in Feb.2010.

I had one when I was 60 but not sure if it just turned up or if I requested it, at the start of the campaign.
