Someone was going to do it, somewhere, as appalling and horrific as we know it was. All we can hope is that Nagasaki is remembered, not as the second city where the bomb was dropped, but as the last. |

You must be thinking of Claude Eatherly, Rox. Eatherly was not actually flying the "Enola Gay", but he was closely involved in some capacity. He suffered from a psychiatric disorder after the bombing. I'm not sure if he actually committed suicide, but he did attempt suicide on two occasions and he did cite guilt over the bombs as a cause. |
