This week I bought a pile of old pictures at auction, the man with a van brought them today and I have been cleaning off years of coal dust (stored in coalhouse maybe?) .

I am really chuffed to have found amongst them two very nice etchings (? ) of Thames sailing barges , and as my ancestors worked on the Thames it is a lovely find :))))

Also I have three photos, dated 1914, husband wife and child plus a large framed 'award' for services to the Gas company...I will copy the wording of it and put on here and tips, scan in the photo's and am hopeful that someone might like to help me try and find some relatives to get them to?

Evening Foggy :)) No that location is still to be found , nice to have the pictures I found today of barges though, with St Pauls in the background in one. One is fine, but the glass needs replacing in the other, so will get that done soon.

What a great new find for you. Will take bridge photo to J&R soon, just in case they can identify it, he rang earlier neither very good at present.

When I find hand-written inscriptions and signatures in 'old' books I always look up to try and find out more about the signatory - no wonder I never get far with my on rellies - but it is interesting to try and find a vague connection.
