I never get enough information as all my lot are Irish, but when I get a lead or a snippet, I am in seventh heaven! One night I woke up at 3am shouting a name out which answered a puzzle I had been worrying about for ages! So I still feel like a newbie:-) BC¬XX

No I do not envy them. I still get that feeling when waiting for certificates and when they finally arrive.

I expect to still have that feeling as have so many certificates to still order here and the UK.

Also get it when doing searches for other people and find the information that they have asked for.

I just love this hobby, I've done knitting, emboidery, reading, ceramics, porcelaine doll making and lost interest in them all, this one though, I just keep coming back.

I do envy the newbies though, so much to find and so many different avenues to choose from.

I agree Suemaid. After leaving the tree for a while and then finding another link out of the blue...the adrenalin begins to rush just as if it was the first anscestor one ever found...gets to me every time...just like a newbie, I want to shout it from the rooftops :-)))

I also love that feeling when you think you've exhausted all avenues and then you get one tiny piece of information and you're off and running again.

I like parish records and the thrill of being able to build up the family, as more and more people show up.
I still have alot to find.
This afternoon I had an 'Oh no!' moment when I realised that my Emily who married JONES in Southampton, could possibly be the daughter of someone with maiden name JONES.
i can't cope with any more Jones, !...Lol.

Does anyone else envy people who are just starting out to trace their family history, with all the excitement of unearthing different bloodlines etc? Can you remember when you first discovered the censuses and you found your family? Nothing quite like it was there?. Now when I have discovered most of mine in al;l the censuses it is not so exciting.

OK I know there are other things you can find out, how and where they all lived etc but it is the first discoveries that were the best I think.
