Have to wait until early next month.

Oh where did you all come from lol?

~~~~~~~~~ to Dee, Susan, Allan and Elizabeth. Thanks for trying anyway.
I tried looking on anagram sites but they only do 'words' not people's names lol Oh well, have all week to get it, it's for my Take a Break comp entry, I do it each week, but haven't won anything for ages, altho only ever won little prizes, no cars or holidays or loads of money yet!
Elizabeth, I am ok thanks, sorry your appointment has been cancelled, I have had kidney stones and they are the worst pain imaginable... I do hope you will get some sleep. Painkillers don't seem to help do they?
Take care everyone, off to face my bank account :>(((
I came up with Sylvester Meloday. Perhaps your quiz could have spelt the last name as Melloday? Could be way off course.... just a suggestion....
Good luck.
WAS THINKING OF THE NAME SALVETORE?
Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond
Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 11 Aug 2009 02:39
I have been wracking my brains trying to get this, trouble is I am not very good with filmstars and such, as I don't watch films until they are old and on tv lol and don't really notice all the cast names unless they are really well known, so many new people in films and music etc Of course, it could be someone famous like a footballer, am not good at sports people either! Oh well I have a couple of days before I post off the competition form, and can do it on line too, I just hate being beaten lol
Thanks for trying folks,
Lizx
Hi Purple Thingy, Please tell me exactly what the question is. Does it precisely ask for a famous person, ie someone's name.
I am usually slightly competent at these puzzles but this one has me absolutely stumped. There are several words which can be derived from these letters but they are not names. I usually solve these puzzles by writing. Last night I filled five sheets of paper with different combinations of the letters. I can find Sylvester. Do you have the letters correct?
Ouch OK don't wack me anymore I have to ask these dumb questions!!
Liz
Liz Report 11 Aug 2009 15:20
Did the puzzle actually give you all the letters or did you have to work them out?
It looks like Sylvester Stallone to me - only 3 letters are wrong.
What do you think?
AuntySherlock
AuntySherlock Report 11 Aug 2009 15:25
I have to agree with you. And if you look at the keyboard the S is next to the D, the M next to the N, and the Y is next to the T. Might be clutching at straws here but it really seems very strange those are the missing letters.
Liz
Liz Report 11 Aug 2009 16:03
I hadn't noticed that - but good point.
I don't think we're clutching at straws.
Sorry folks, not been on here to look at thread till now. I will check my answers to the grid questions and see if I have made a mistake, you have to answer the questions, fill in the letters and pick out all coloured square letters to make anagram letters, if that makes sense.
Back later with correct letters, lol
told you my head was full of cotton wool
Oh dear, must pay more attention, I had got some of the answers wrong in the grid, not a crossword or I would have seen the errors, but having double checked it, find the letters I now have make up, yes you've guessed it...... Sylvester Stallone.
Thanks all of you
Oh dear. There just has to be repercussions!! OK all of you who laboured long and late into the night - what sort of punishment should this Purple person have to endure.
Let me see. Perhaps stand in the corner for twenty minutes with a block of chocolate just out of reach. Or maybe we'll downgrade her colour to pale purple, SD.
Any more ideas.
Oh it's OK PSD. At least I now know I wasn't going insane. I have discovered a few words I never knew existed, and formed a few others I just can't type on here.
Hurry up and put your entry in. After all that it should be a lucky one!!
Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 12 Aug 2009 04:48
I think I have my own punishment lol, have to go to the dentist today about the lump in my mouth and fear they will say the molar has to be removed... a thought that fills me with dread !
Thanks again for all your help, I did the original puzzle when o.h. was annoying me so tried to block him whinging by working on the magazine puzzle, and got some wrong.
Will get it in the post today, after I have filled in the online form too, gives me two chances of winning. That comp 'only' pays out £100 prizes but better that than nothing.
Off to bed now, o.h. will be getting up for work shortly, night!
