Hi, I've found out that my gt grandmother was born in Armley Gaol, in 1870. Does anyone know how I find out more details?

Thanks
Jane

The records of trials are on line with ancestry now.

If you know your Gt Grandmothers father or mothers name you will be able to check whether they were convicted inmates or not.

The address is:

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec/?htx=List&dbid=1590&offerid=0%3a7858%3a0

If you are not a member of ancestry let me have the name and i will check for you

ps, don't be embarrassed about a convict or 2 in the tree, my Gt Gt Gt rerved 2 months for larceny in the early 1800's.
