My OH was sitting on the wall byme as I was weeding, and he suddenly said, What are you doing in there? He was speaking to a large toad which was jmping up and down in a watering can, trying to reach the way out! I know he could only have been there overnight as I used that can yesterday, but I am so glad he was noticed!

Hi There
Your story made me laugh-well cringe actually!!

A few years ago we had a green watering can right outside the back door, it always had water in it, rainwater etc-well one day one of my sons mates was in the garden and called me out to tell me about a toad in the watering can!!!! Luckily him and my son were fasinated by this toad and led it to safety whilst I was in the kitchen going hot and cold and trying to hide my fear from two eight year olds!!!!

Even now over 10 years later I can't bear to have a watering can near to the back door for fear of a repeat of that day, oh I have gone all cold!!!!

I've found a frog once, but not recently.
I don't mind them, but it was the unexpected jumping around which startled me.

I was watering some bedding plants at the weekend, but the water wasn't flowing properly from the can. No wonder, there was a huge juicy snail blocking the spout.

I had a problem with a watering can not pouring properly, and there was a dead mouse blocking the spout

I am scared of frogs, one once hid in my watering can and when i saw it i screamed and dropped the watering can and ran. Hubbie was sent to set it free.

Another time i was in garden with my daughter and another baby i was looking after.
There we were ,sitting in the sun whilst they were crawling on a blanket and playing with some toys, when through the bushes a huge ginger cat brings us a present.
I am ashamed to say i didn't like his present. I jumped up quicker than anyone who has ever won the lottery and ran indoors, pulled the patio doors closed and watched where he went with his present, a frog in his mouth, legs either side and head looking at me. Whilst looking at the cat i happened to glance over to the blanket on the ground and realised i had left the girls out on the rug!
Time to be brave, gulp of air, open the door grab the girls by an arm each, turn and run in doors place girls on the floor and slam the patio door shut. Whilst doing all the above with one eye on the cat .
Safe,phew!
ii still laugh today at it all. My ginger cat, Sam was devil for presents and he stood at the patio door with this frog and keep looking in as if to say its for you.

Now I would have to have rescued that frog from the cat. I can stand snails, but SLUGS! ugh!

When I watered some plants today, I very carefully looked in the cans first.
