Hi all,

I've just signed up for GR, and I've a question about dates. First of all, I guess we should adopt a XX.XX.XXXX format. I started off with June 18 etc., leaving the year for the "year" field, but then I noticed that marriage has no "year" field. So I tried June 18 1999 etc. but then found that September XX XXXX was too long. So, XX.XX.XXXX it is. But is the separator important? I could use XX.XX.XXXX or XX%XX%XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX or XX-XX-XXXX and more besides? (You can probably guess I'm a programmer.)

I could also ask about the British/American distinction between month and day (year?) order, but that's presumably a question without a good answer.

It would be nice if FR used a pop-up calendar for dates. This would elimate the question.

Cheers,
Paul
