Thanks for that Choccy, you know how to let me down gently don't you, i think you are probably right but wouldn't it be lovely if he did have a job connected with royalty, though knowing my luck they would probably only be chief pooper scooper!!!, suppose i must carry on hunting for my royal connection.!! |

Finally it has happened, after nearly two years of staring at a huge brick wall on my paternal grandfathers side, i have today had a major breakthrough, though if anyone can decipher the occupation of Arthur Lawrance in the 1861 census i would be a very happy bunny, his details are Arthur Lawrance born 1845 in Raydon Suffolk, his wife was Mary Ann born 1846(?) in Langham Essex, they had a son Alfred who was born about 1859 in East Bergholt Essex on the 1861 census they were living at 374 Caledonian(?) Road Islington.It looks to me something like Royal leather ( ? ) cutter. |
