Welcome Jacqueline to the site. Thank you too for the reminder that we should all be vigilant, and well done your bank for warning you, it is always wise to be alert to these things. It may be that they have picked up on the nigerian type scam that was tried on here a week or so ago, or, as somebody said, that GR have sent out a warning. Instinct tells me the former is more likely. It is not unreasonable to imagine that one of our many members works for a bank and has mentioned it. |

good morning hubby checked with the bank again this morning and the lady he spoke to said that somtimes when your card is either stolen or cloned then the fraudsters target sites like this because they can purchase somthing for a small amount then wait to see if it goes through then start and use the card to purchase more expensive items so because it was such a small amount on the card it sent a red flag to the bank and so they phoned to check we had made the purchase I have to say I am pleased with their vigilance and feel much more secure. However I will be checking bank statments with my eyes wide open. |

Ah, not really fraud then so we can all stop holding our collective breath. However brownie points for a vigilant bank. Can you hint which one? Don't bother if you prefer not to but I imagine it is one of the big ones? |

Hiya, I've had several calls from my card provider this year at times when 2nd card holder is using sites like E-Bay, and even when I made two transactions close together whilst out buying school uniform recently!! They are wary of any new sites you use your card and for smallish amounts. I'm always worried it's not my card provider calling tho!! They have said that fraudsters start by paying for small items then maxing out your card. |

Having worked for a bank and having first hand experience of a scam on one of my cards, I can assure you that no bank would ever mention the site / outlet / source of any possible fraud, at least not on the initial call. |
