Thinking of booking one for next Feb.

OH is then 65 and "officially" retiring (yeah - like that will happen!) so thought this might be a treat.

Anyone been on a rail holiday? What was it like?

This one includes hotels and trips etc so it's not sleeping on the train - but I wonder whether I'll get some kind of cabin fever.

Thoughts welcome ...

Jill

What would your dad reckon about a train holiday Karen?

I quite like trains - I only learnt to drive about 12/13 years or so ago so I'm used to public transport - and I hate flying so it's a good option for me but ... before we go ahead and make a booking I want to try and get a bit of feedback if poss.

Hi Both

I have only had a days holiday on the Orient express from London to somewhere else in England....I must say though that it was the best day out I have ever had and the people we met were diverse.....Laugh!...I never laughed so much in all my life and wished the day would never end....We got to know so many people from so many walks of life but didn't have the time to make more of it......No! I don't think I would have got cabin fever.....I think it would have been a great experience with many tales to tell when the holiday was over......I say....go for it!
