Mine has both video and DVD recorder attached to it, so I would have to have furniture up to the wall-mounted TV to hide the cables - so it might as well sit on the top of the furniture anyway.

Actually, I have 7ft wall units with a place for the TV and a lower cupboard for the other equipment. Cables run out of holes at the back where you can't see them. I recently bought a new TV and had to empty the bookcase to be able to move it, then move the centre (of 3) unit out to get at the cables - sufficient to say - NO, I would rather have them all 'stand-alone' - much easier to get at when you need to.

I would like the bedroom TV mounted on wall. Then I could watch it laying down rather than having to look at OH's back.

We've got the bedroom & kitchen tv's mounted .But the main one is on a stand , only because we've got a large high fire surround & the telly would be to high up & look stupid .
In the next house though i'll be measuring the height of the fire surround first , it gives a lot more space having them mounted .

Hope your keeping well Muffs .

~~~~~~~to Karen.
My daughter has her bedroom TV mounted on brackets - the same as many people have their microwaves on the wall. Just get an extra power point put onto the wall behind it where you can't see it.
Our main TV is a massive old fashioned thingy and it would look bleedin' stupid on the wall :-))
Projection is the way to go.....we have it wall to wall and it is brilliant...when it is off...there is no tv taking up space.
