Help required please. Does anyone know how to copy my tree from this site please. My family would llike to see my tree, but they cannot see it here unless they subscribe which they dont want to do, so I was hoping to put it elsewhere so that it is free to view. But I am reluctant to key all the info in again and start from scratch.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Gill

They can register and not pay. You could then contact them on here and they should be able to access your tree. Worth a try.

In any event, you'd be wise to put the tree onto an offline package - that way you can keep all the main detail offline and it would be easier to share.

PAF is downloadable from the familysearch site and is easy to use. I think you can download with a gedcom but I don't understand those ... Then other members of the family could also download the PAF and you can ping the whole thing around by e-mail.

Another option is:-

Download your tree from GR .

Follow the instructions at the bottom of the page and you will receive a gedcom file via email

Upload your tree to Tribal Pages, which is a web based site which will allow your family to log in and see the details. You can set privacy options to restrict access.

I would strongly recommend that you get a PC program such as Family Tree Maker (FTM) and keep your definitive records there on your pc.

You can then upload to other websites or backup the details as you see fit.
