We all know the old rhyme, pertaining to the day of the week on which you were born:

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child born on the Sabbath Day,
Is fair and wise and good and gay.




Do you fit the description for the day you were born?

My son and I do, I think. I was born on a Friday and try to be 'loving and giving', and my poor son arrived late, early on a Saturday morning so 'works hard for his living', with two jobs to do that is certainly right!

yes my son was also born on a sunday at 8a.m.
and he has two jobs as well ... to keep his head above water so to speak .

Hazel, that's why my lad is working, to keep his rent and bills up to date and have some spending money.

Sunday's child your lad, he should be ok, I know the last word on 'his description' means something else now but I like to think happy is a good substitute.

I was born on a Wednesday and I sometimes fit that day, as a child I lacked confidence and my grandmother used to think I was a sulky little girl but I only saw her at holiday times so I was more shyer than her other grandchildren who lived round the corner. I tend to be a bit of a worrier to OH always says why worry about something that may never happen.

My youngest daughter was born on a Tuesday and is certainly not full of grace only just the other day she phoned to say her friend had fallen over and in trying to help her friend my daughter trip over too and landed on her Jaw and now she says it's sore when talking. she always was the one in the family that ended up having accidents at school.

That's all we can wish for our children isn't it, happiness and good health.
The rest we have to teach them!

Fiona, that sounds a bit like me, I didn't know my Dad's side of the family well at all so was always sort of in awe of my Gran!

Shame your daughter hasn't got the grace she should have but at least she is kind, trying to help her pal and that's more important. I hope she has just bruised her jaw and it will be better soon.

Well, i don't know!

I was born on a Monday and cannot possibly comment!

OH was born on a Tuesday and is (was) certainly athletic.

Eldest daughter was born on a Friday and she has lots of friends and seems very popular.

Middle boy was born on a Wednesday, has moaned all his life despite a very comfortable upbringing and still complains all the time!

Youngest boy was born on Friday and is sunny and cheerful most of the time. Today I shouted at him twice - he is 17 - and I don't remember having to shout at him before. He was definitely the sunniest child.

Well, I'm Tuesday and I'm incurably clumsy! I trip over paving stones, it unnerves me when my cats get under my feet and I'm all fingers and thumbs when I try to thread up my sewing machine . . .
