I have just come back from walking the mutts and my Dutch neighbour came over to thank me after ...

Why ? because I was talking to his grandaughter from the word go ( pretty thing she is age 14 ). He thanked me for not flinching and saying she was pretty ( she is ) even tho' she has over 97% burn scars on her face and arms.

To be honest I never thought of turning my eyes away from her face whilst I was talking to her, her conversation was articulate and intelligent ( and in English ! ).

What a shame tho' that her grandad had to come and say thankyou. ..she is also here with a cousin who was there but didn't have so much to say.

She needs more people like you.I know some folk just don't know to react when faced with bad disfigurements .But we just need to remember there is a person there who needs to be accepted as 'normal'.Which they are.You soon get used to not seeing scars etc.I bet you boosted her confidence.

Its like when we take out residents in wheel chairs................people dont talk to them,they talk to us
Its so rude to ignore someone just because they have a disability

I have to be honest I was talking to ***( my neighbour ) when she came out, I won't say I didn't see the scars ( you can't miss them ) but she spoke to me and I answered and ***** left us to it. I feel sorry that he had to come and thank me, she really is a pretty thing if you look at the eyes and the smile.

Mo I found that when I broke my ankle and was in a wheelchair ........it took them less than a month to remember who I was ( PUBLICAN ! ) but others on the street talked to who was pushing as though I was an imbelcile .....hello I only broke my ankle ! fun bit was both me and my nephew went out in chairs, he is a tretraplegic and had an electric chair pushing me !!!! who the **** did they talk to ?

I think also Mo it isn't a subject that people like ..
