OK, Elizabeth Gadd age 20 and John H Meloy age 1 are boarders, it is possible that Elizabeth Gadd is John's mother, or that one of the other people in the house is his mother. I don't think its a children's home as such as it appears that the household is made up of a family and then these two boarders.

I have been reading into my GG on the 1901 cencus and it said that he was a 1 of 3 Boarders in a household but at that time he was only 1 years old.
