Blood donations needed info

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are well and doing okay.

Because of the swine flu problems, the blood service is trying to stock up on blood supplies.

None of us know if we could need a life saving transfusion or one of our loved ones.

Could you think about giving blood or maybe there's someone you know who could?

I tried years ago but it took so long to get it out of me, they told me not to bother going back lol

That's nasty. The staff sound very inexperienced and rude.

Now, most staff would be very grateful that people made the effort and took time to donate.

Its completely different how these things are done now.

Got to admit, I was really disappointed I couldn't the other day. Went to do it on Friday and my iron level was about 4mg/l lower than the minimum requirement. (I think it was because it should have been my 13th donation - something had to go wrong! Weird thing is, it was almost a year since the last time

But I did get a letter off the Blood Service through the post to thank me for trying and saying I can go again in 12 weeks, so naturally the closest date to that that's local is either two days before my twelve weeks is up or a month after that. (I worked out the other day, I think I've actually attended 19 sessions to date and they've only taken 12 units from me so far . . .)
