Another interesting thing about the house is, it was pulled down and the town library built on the spot, the very place I go to look at records & fiches.........life can be very weird!! |

It was very interesting to hear what syphillis can do. I was unaware of the death of children but did know about blindness. I really enjoyed this episode as it was very informative. |

I too found it very interesting and if had I been Martin Freeman I would be wanting to check for anything in the present generations and doing something about it. Grand-daughter is specialist in HIV and maybe this is why I take this more seriously. |

Have to say at the end of the programme when they showed address of where the granma was born..........I fell of the settee!.......I will have to watch prog. again,but sure it read 45,Camden Street,Tynemouth..........the house my Dad was brought up in.He was fostered there in 1913. |

Just watched and was very interesting I thought... is it me being a tad irreverent to suspect that if, as was stated , approx 10% of the population a hundred years ago might have had syphillis, then a number of researchers might be scurrying with trepidation to their trees at the moment to check gaps between living children ? |
