This thread, whilst reading the replies of other, reminded me of an incident about 35 tears ago, and it is true. I planned a days shopping in Chesterfield with Grandma, my two toddlers, babe in pushchair, and 4th well on th way. Babe was nicely fastened in pushchair, but I could not find the 'lead' to hook on to the youngest toddler's reins. So Grandma hooked on the dog lead onto the reins, which were underneath her cape-coat, and could hardly be seen. In one shop, someone made a fuss of them all, and remarked it was a good job I had toddler in reins. 'It's not reins, it's the dog lead' said the eldest toddler, always had a gob on her ,even at that age, (made in the nicest possible way, of course). But the person said it didn't matter, because at least she would be SAFE. I see very few people using reins these days. |
