I have found James Fredererick and his sister Alice Bowles in the 1961 census but when i click to view the original record it does not show them on the page. I have not come across this before. Does anyone know why this happens?

Just looked on Ancestry and he is there for 1861. JFB is on the eighth line from the top

Thank you, this is some of the information i am looking for. I went back to the 1861 census and still got the same page. i couldnt see any other pages. I find the person i want and click on the book to see the original transcript and it brings up a page without the name on it that i want. What i am doing wrong? It hasnt happened with any other records i have looked up.

Hi Julie,
I've found the same problem on a few occasions. Sometimes a family continues over to the next page, or they've linked the wrong page No to the family.
Usually they can be found on one of the pages either side.

On the opened image. Look at the top right of it. You'll see a page number displayed, with forward & back arrows to the right of it. Click on either of these to go to the next or previous page.
