Hi
I've recently been doing quite a lot of charity knitting hats, mittens etc for the Shoebox appeal-and baby things for the local neo-natal unit-I'm now thinking what to do next-But my yarn stash is going small! I love doing it though-at least someone will wear my knitting unlike my own family!!!

Has anyone got any ideas of any local places that might donate a few balls here and there?
or any ideas wher I can get any more -I alreaady buy quite a bit but it does mount up and got my own kids to clothe as well!
(I'm in Exeter Devon area.)

any tips gratefully received

Maybe some on here will have some to send you?

Unfortunately, I've just promised my mum the few odd balls I've got, or you could have had those.

Look on Freecycle there might be someone on there wanting to get rid of wool...You never know, its worth a try.

Hi try a place called Freecycle you should find it if you google it and join your local area. Its a good place to give things away you no longer need and also if you are after things like wool people may have a bag or two to give away. You must arrange to collect stuff within 3 days though and no money must change hands - its recycling at its best. Its very good - ive given lots of things away I wouldnt have thought twice about taking to the skip before.

Also if you are interested I could pdf you some knitting patterns for premiture babies from the Tiny Lives appeal.

Ask on Gumtree - I am sure you will get some. Also places like Lidl and Pound stores often have cheap yarn, I think Lidl has some this week. Write to the letters page in your local newspaper, just give your phone number or ask if the wool can be dropped into the newspaper office to be collected by you if it's not too far for you to go.
