Hello Richard,
I'm a Bird but only by marriage, my Birds come from Walsall so arn't connected. Can I ask are you in the U.K? If so and you are in the Midlands, you could go in person to the register office and apply for the certs in person. If not then you need to apply for them through the general register office at. www.gro.gov.uk/../certificates

Hi Deb, let me apologise for not getting back to you sooner but I am not so good with this programme yet. Many thanks for the info you sent.

The James and Priscilla you gave me are the right ones. How do I go about getting a marriage cert. as hopefully this will give me their parents. Also he was previously married to a Charlotte Papworth in 1841 and this is another cert I would like. I really would like to know who Jame's parents were and if he had any siblings. Charlotte's father was a James Papworth, from where I do not know. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

If this is the correct date then you will need to obtain the marriage cert so you can go a bit further, as you will then have their fathers name,s

Looking for ancestors of James Bird. I don't know where he was born but thinking Birmingham, his wife was Priscilla Adams. Don't know from where. HELP!
