My gggrandfather was married 3 times (as was 1 of his sons but that´s another story).
His 1st wife was his cousin. His 2nd wife was his daughter´s mother in law & his 3rd wife was his nephew in law´s sister.
Didn´t look far did he? meanwhile I am having a nervous breakdown

Good Heavens, Marion.

I thought we had enough trouble with a brother marrying his sister in law's sister and a sister marrying her brother in law's brother.

We have two sets of children that share a set of grandparents and a brother and sister sharing parents in law.

Pass the valium.

That´s not all.
On Dad,s side of the family,we have 2 brothers & a sister marrying 2 sisters & a brother. Try working out whose kids were whose from that lot & to top it all have recently discovered that a cousins Dad,s 1st wife had 2 daughters while he was away in the army,so my cousin has 2 half sisters he never knew existed. And they were all so po faced!!!

They make us laugh at times, don't they.

I had a very posh great great aunt. She'd married 'well' and she was always showing off (even though she was in her 90's when I remember her).

She left the family silver to the local church. The vicar had it valued and it was fake!

I also found her father in prison for stealing in 1841 - his dad was a pawn broker :-)

I have found a bigamous marriage in our family - also found my great great grandparents had two children before they married, when I told my mother, who was 98 at the time she said "well, these things did happen"
