I know it is unusual but there are still some people who don't have an account.

If I need to help my lad out, occasionally, I can transfer money and it is in his account in two hours usually.

My son lived in a shared house, dodgy set up, so I got my building society to transfer money to his account in the same society, different town, and he had no trouble accessing it.

No, not illegal in UK Berona, is it where you are. (sorry senior moment can't remember if you are in Oz or NZ.)

Have you asked at the police station incase it's been handed in?
My daughter found a £20 note in the street earlier this year and handed it in to the police. She got it back recently because nobody claimed it, but told me she'd given it to a charity, because it was never hers in the first place.

Margaret - I'm so sorry this happened to you, but with respect, I doubt if your insurance would cover it because isn't sending cash by mail illegal?
I hope someone sent it on for you or you find it yourself.

Margaret I do hope the letter gets delivered to your daughter. Maybe in future you'd be better writing her a cheque - it would cost a lot less to send and be safer, or you could transfer it to her bank if you have online or phone banking set up.

Fingers crossed, there are some honest people around so hope one of those found your envelope.

Sorry this has happened to you Margaret. My daughter lost her purse a few weeks back, and even though it had her driving licence in it, with her address on, and a tidy sum of money, no-one handed it in.
Even if someone just popped your envelope into the post box, it would've been delivered to your daughter, though she would've had to pay the postage. Better that than losing the money.
I hope someone has had the decency to do this.

maybe its in the house somewhere, or still in car,
surely youd have noticed if it just fell out,
praps it fallen under table or in car down between seats

ave you got house insurance, just thought sometimes it covers cash,

id open it and ave alook whats in it, cos i nosey

Hopefully somebody would just post it,unless it landed in a puddle or blown on the road etc.
Have a good look though, you just might have left it some place else ie some where safe,another jacket or bag even.

Just a thought, give it a few days, if it doesn't turn up check if your house contents insurance covers lost cash.

If it was this morning Margaret and somebody put it in the box minus a stamp it will still get there but will have to be collected from the post office sorting office and will take longer because the recipient will have to collect it and pay handling charge etc for it.

Think as next option I would ask post office to have someone check the post box when next collection is due.
Some honest person could have kindly posted it off for you

As soon as I got to the counter and saw it gone we went straight home to see if it was there but alas no we then wnt back to the shop and I asked if anyone had handed ina brown envelope and they said no
