Hi All
Reading this thread made me think of the time my cat Jet a big black male
He was a lovely cat a stray i took in he followed me everywhere
Well one xmas my neighbours who had two cats meggie and arthur which came in and out of our house it was like their second home lol
jet used to go over to theirs my neighbour had just done all her front room out and bought new curtains
jet went in and weeded up them so needless to say he got barred from the house
well on xmas eve they went to bed and left the top bathroom window open which jet decided to climb in
he got through the window jumped down knocking everything off the windowsill which then woke them up thinking someone was breaking in to find jet so they booted him out
well meggie who had been asleep under the xmas tree got such a fright she pooed which the neighbour had to clean it up
we laughed about when they told us
bet they werent laughing at the time lol

I dont know about marks for workmanship. Oliver loves Betty to bits because she often brings chicken round for me to put out for my stray cats,foxes ect. that is why I didn't think it odd that he was investigating her shopping bag.

Luckily,she loves him back and thought it was funny. Thinking back a week,I blamed my newly aquired stray for peeing on my bed,I bet it was Oliver leaving his mark.

Luckily,he has been neutered so dosn't stink the house out!!!

Our Ollie stole OH´s hearing aid last weekend (his own fault for leaving it on the coffee table which is just a nice cat height)
With waste of €2000 in mind spent an hour on my hands & knees in my jim jams looking under all the furniture.
Finally located it under the dresser in the dining room covered in fluff & cat spit, but fortunately for him, still working.

Our Lizzie has my OH trained to a T, even sits with a hand over the side of his chair so she can play with it, but he Always gets scratched!

Olly's obviously VERY meticulous. he peed in the bag - which was then taken away! How thoughtful was that?
Poor Betty - is she still a friend (of yours - obviously not Olly's!)

There is never a dull moment when you have cats,my three never cease to amaze me with the shenanegans they get up to.

Last week I took up the sleeves and trousers of a leasure suit for a friend.I left them in a carrier bag on the floor next to the chair where she always sits.

Later on,I noticed Oliver,my cat from HELL,had reversed his bum into the bag. It wasn't until Betty took her suit home,that it became apparent that Olly had copiously peed on it. This from a cat that is meticulous in his toilet habits!!

...I was quite fond of her...once. I'm rapidly going off her - done virtually nothing all day and what I have done, she, like a toddler has been 'inspecting' it and messing it up. What she hasn't 'inspected' - one of her brothers has!

I'm in the middle of making new covers for my sofa, so thought I'd put the base bit that I've actually sewn together on the sofa, and see if I could sew the arms on.
Along comes Mr Miu. Muddy paws. Carefully avoiding the old cushion
(placed there in case one of the dears decided they HAD to sleep there), he drags his feet right over the uncovered part of the cover!

Goodness knows where he found mud - the ground's been frozen solid all day.

I bet, when he found it, he dipped all 4 paws in and carefully walked home on 2 paws for maximum muddy effect!

She loves you Maggie...simple as that lol.

Put some orange peel under /round the tree. Or a citrus air freshner,that should keep them from climbing up the tree.

I had to laugh at Merlin's post....so true! LOL. The 1st cat I had about 40 years ago, I tried to be the boss but gave in eventually ;-)) Every cat I've had since then I've just accepted that they rule the roost and from day one I just work on the basis of *ok, whatever you want* LOL.

My sister and BIL, adopted a stray cat a few months ago. A few days later I had my sis on the phone really upset because the cat wouldn't eat the food they'd given her and her husband was insisting that she left the food on the floor and the cat would eat it eventually. Now we experienced cat owners know differently don't we!! LOL. So, my help was required to make BIL understand that he would give in before the cat did. He was saying that if cat didn't eat it after 3 days then he would allow sister to throw the food away and give the cat the food she likes. I had to convince him that the cat is going to win the battle....so why not save themselves the hassle and give in now, you're going to give in anyway!

mine hasnt been to bad this year, "well she hasnt scalled me 6 foot tree yt! lol
but she does sit ont he window sill, and plays with the decorations on it, but once scollded she gets down, she knows i cnt get round the tree to get her so smuggly returns lol

altho she is nice to snuggle in bed n keep me warm in the freesing nights lol

It seems the cat has,nt quite got you house trained yet,rest assured it will eventually.then you won,t notice what it does to amuse or annoy you.Have fun whilst being trained. M.

One of my cats has been driving me potty this morning.

She was allowed pouch food after she had her teeth done in June.

She decided she preferred it and was reluctant to go back onto the dried (cheaper!) stuff.

It's been a battle of wills. She is allowed half a pouch a day now; biscuits the rest of the day.

She has screamed at me for hours. She has just given up and eaten the biscuits as she knows that once I'm on the computer she's had it.

LOL Amanda - Lunar's attic antics are exactly why I can't go into the attic!
Two of my cats (the males) are black. Sister Betty is black & white, but very small and manages to hide herself in the smallest space.

I used to have a cat who was allowed into the attic. (a huge ginger & white tom, so easier to see!) When he wanted to come down, he'd howl at the hatch and throw himself into my arms.
All very well, until I forgot he was there and went out into the garden.
I found out later that he had peed up there - I spent a few fretful days thinking my roof was leaking!

Reading all this is making me wonder if a cats favorite time of the year is Christmas.........lol......so much more scope for bing a pest and generally upsetting the arrangements..........lol

I've got a black demon cat ( called Lunar ) her favorite is to get into the loft , she is straight up the ladder and in.....you don't notice of course until hours later ( she being black she blends with the darkness .....lol ) .

She is really in the bad books today as I'm sad to say she caught a Robin this morning : (( I know she is only doing what cats do but a Robin !!..............Grrrr.

Hi Daff - the Christmas tree ( with unbreakable ornaments on) has so far survived.
Like yours, mine tend to spread the excitement.
Betty's brother George has woken up and is joining in the 'fun', which seems to include tripping me up!
Aren't grandchildren great for terrorising cats into submission! LOL
My 7 year old grand daughter spent most of the day she stayed here brushing Betty - who's normally terrified of children. Betty then spent the rest of the week harrassing me to brush her - which I won't do, as it's something I tend to do when she's scared by fireworks!

Hi CC - what is it with cats and computers?

Mrs S - you know she's not helping - she's a cat.
Dogs have a conscience - cats just don't care!
They sit & watch me wash the floor, then go outside, find some mud and walk it in.
George, when he's bored, pulls all the tissues out of the box and shreds them. If he finds the box upside down (a trick I employ!), he'll find my handbag and empty that out! That's not helping - that's intentional evil!

Maggie - she is HELPING!

I used to have a dog who stuck by my side whenever I was working in the house, or hanging out washing...I used to say to him 'Badger, I wish you could pass me the pegs'.

Hi Maggie my cat is nearly ten and he is such a mummys boy he has to be near me all the time, drives me nuts after a while especially as he hates me being on the computer.!.Merry Christmas to you by the way xx

We have never had a problem with Christmas trees and cats... but our latest addition, a three legged tortie, has been extricated 3 times today...... and now our two boys want to join in the fun... and even the 18 year old Grande Dame is eyeing it up with a sparkle in her eye!!

So what if I have yours for a couple of hours, then we do a swap? lolol

Never mind... the Usurper will be here tomorrow (granddaughter, aged 3, lol) so they will be wary for a day or two and keep out of the way, lol
