Perhaps she liked the picture/words inside. Or maybe she thought she ought to 'go modern' and everywhere you see the word partner used. At least she send you a card, a lot of people don't.

you know sometimes when you are Xmas shopping and the queues are long and you are tired you just reach out for a nice looking card with a suitable verse..you don't always think too well.

i have been with my partner for nearly 30 yrs,we have seven lovely children together but not married,MIL sent us this type of card,but has never done so before...i am clueless as to why???

For a gay couple, not at all, but it does help to cover all options that arise these days.

With so many people not marrying it is hard to know what title fits!
