Sadly my parents only made it to their 44th anniversary in 1989. Dad died of lung cancer in January 1990. He had some respite care in a hospice as he couldn't eat, in the November, and was home again for his last Christmas, 1989, when he managed to do justice to Mum's cooking and enjoyed Christmas dinner. I made them a cake for their wedding anniversary on the 29th December 89 and he managed to eat a bit of that, and then a few days later his health started declinging again and he died (in the hospice for the last couple of days) on 23rd Jan 1990

Today is the 65th anniversary of their Wedding Day.
