I don't know what others think, but this anti-social behaviour that's been highlighted on the news recently has made me so sad and annoyed. Why don't the police do anything, are they that powerless to stop it. It's not the England that I grew up in.....

I feel so sorry for the people being targetted. What makes these kids so unfeeling that they target families with disabled people and children, how have their families brought them up? And why are the courts not punishing them? I agree Pam, unheard of when we were young. It all boils down to a complete lack of respect and intelligence.

Hi Jane, well they've been showing families on the news who have been targeted by these louts, so sad.

Totally agree with you Ann.

It has been a week of looking at anti social behaviour on TV news Jane, we have had a story each evening. Some of the things are really nasty, it follows on from the Mother who committed suicide over the treatment of her handicapped daughter.

If a neighbour reported anything to Mum that they didnt like then my you were for it . Mum would ask what it was all about and would make her judgment call from the answer .sometimes giving you the benefit of doubt BUT we were left in no doubt of what we could and couldn't do . My Dad was an inoffensive man but Mum saying she would tell dad when he got in from work was a real OH NO!! Dad never hit you but just calling you to one side and saying whats this mum tells me ! made you feel so bad, he woulld say its not the right behaviour and dont let it happen again for you to feel so bad you had let him down.
I guess these days the boundaries arent set so children think they can do a they like.

Can I be really bold and say "I blame the parents" in the way these youngsters have been brought up.

Some people just should not have children ... (that is just my personal opinion by the way!)

It makes my blood boil Pam.A lot is down to bad parenting I feel.No respect for anyone or anything with some people. These youngsters really don't stand a chance, and you can just see what road they are going down........Straight to jail when they are a little older.

That made me cry Ann .Am I right in thinking she had been let down badly by the police and she felt she wasn't being taken seriously when she complained?

I remember a couple of years ago when I was in my car, seeing a group of 10/11 year old boys harassing and old man in his 80's.He was shaking his walking stick at them.I stopped and kept my hand on the horn. Then I got out.The boys scarpered with some choice words and a few finger signs. The old man was alright and very grateful that someone had stopped.
Oooohhhh! I do get cross at this kind of thing.

These are dreadffully sad stories that are being posted on here. It does seem like the law is a comlete bloody farce in this country, we can't do this we can't that or say certain things for fear of offending people!!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 9 Jan 2010 16:49

Yes Jane you are right the police failed her.

What gets me is what Joan said, these are people in houses they own so can't be evicted. But that is no excuse for something not being done about it. Naming and shaming would help as then people who work with the husband might put him right on a few things.

I worked for Victim Support for 10 years, and the number of times the victims got let down was just heartbreaking. When you saw the Villains get away with their crimes.
