About this time of year the day to a page desk diaries are cheap in the shops.
They are excellent for research notes, well made and divided into sections for you already.

I have mine in ten ring binders and some of them need splitting now. It isn't the binders I have a problem with it is shelf space.

Filing generally - I started with 2 A4 folders (not those Lever Arch ones as they get too heavy) one for mum's family and one for dad's family.

As one of the branches or one of the names expands I open another A4 folder for it.

I now have about 8 of them! (But these do include my son's father's line and some work I've been doing for OH's cousin and aunty)

Start with one of those cardboard concertina A-Z things. Couple of pounds in most stationers.

It will remain a useful thing to have around as your filing system expands. I have several A4 family files now and I keep my filing in the A-Z folder so that when I'm working on one family file I can easily do any odd bits of filing at the same time.
