With a cold weekend coming up. It seems as though our central heating may have packed up.

Better dig out some extra woolies tomorrow then.

I would send you my woolly tights Ann - but I will need them next week as I'm off to Switzerland and it'll be cooooold!

Got some Jill but thanks for the thought. Just hope we can get someone out to look at the boiler which is where it seems the problem lies. I should have been serviced last month and they always send a reminder but we didn't hear from them, have to ring them tomorrow. It is a small local firm, usually very reliable so hope they can come.

Oh dear Ann.
Have you alternative heating and hot water bottles?

Ours went off today and we have our deepest snow of the winter here.Luckily I remembered that this had happened once before, many years ago, ...also during snowy weather.
Same cause today. Snow had blocked the outer ventilation cover of the boiler and the safety cut-out had activated.
OH fixed it with a broom and radiators are gradually warming us now.

Jill
What good preparation in Kent weather this week for Switzerland !

Yes Gwyn, although having dragged the dog out into the garden so he could desecrate my display snow, I came back indoors shivering and OH laughed at me.

I had to tell him that "I don't know why I agreed to this trip, I don't know what I've let myself in for" LOL. He did sort of agree with me even though the trip was his idea and something he's wanted to do for a long time.

It is soooo cold out there tonight, but I am told that although the temperature in Switzerland is lower than here it does not FEEL as cold. Hmmm.
