Fashionable names for babies

I think parents choose fashionable names so the babies can all be pigeon holed in the future...........lol

Having said that my Grandchildren have good "old fashioned " names ( which are apparently all back in fashion ) ?............lol

Why do new parents choose fashionable names for babies?

I was born in 1954 and my mother named me 'Janet'. I may as well have 'born in the '50's' tattoed on my forehead.

My daughter is expecting; the baby is a girl and she is going to call her Freya. I wish she'd choose a less fashionable name.

I suggested 'Eve' which was rejected.

I know it's not my baby! LOL
