Aunty Sherlock this is the second time our thread has gone like this. Yes we do use it everyday and there is never any bad language on it. It is so frustrating. I was only looking at the amount of pages we had the other day and thinking to my self " I hope it dos'nt disappear again" and blow me it did!! I shall def. start it up again from the begining with the friends I have made through this friendly communication.

The locals on the thread are from all corners of England, Scotland, Wales, Canada, USA and Oz so not just an English community.

Anyone is welcome to join in with our silly chat at any time.

Mel x

Hi Mel, Yes it looks like it has suffered the "this post has been deleted by the fairies" syndrome. All GR will tell you is that it became too big and had to be deleted. Which as Alice said is curiouser and curiouser, seeing there are many other much larger threads still going.

If you wish to save parts of threads you need to cut and paste the info into a Word document. If you try to save the actual thread by "file and save as", once the thread is whooshed what is saved goes as well. Oh I know what I mean.

You can continue using the thread with all its deleted pages. I think one of the games threads did that. We just held a thread wake deleted it entirely and started again. Pain in the proverbial, but ain't no sense complaining 'cos nothing will bring it back.

Mel so sorry your thread has gone, did read some of it earlier and loved the birthday messages that peeps had sent you and all that lovely art work.
I would like to wish you a happy birthday even though your thread did have to disappear on this day.

I think that when a thread reaches a certain amount of posts it goes wrong, I cant see anyone reporting it or even a reason for GR to delete it as its used everyday...

This is the second time it has gone. This time it has happened on my birthday and I am really upset.

I had some posts on file from the first thread but for the life of me I can't find the blimmin things now!!!

I shall have to write to a friend who kept the first posts on file and see if he still has them. Then I will start it all over again.

Anyone who has read it and had a good laugh please come back when I start it again??? Anyone who wishes to join in our chat is very welcome.

Mel on her birthday today.

I'd agree with that, but it was here earlier, most posts were deleted, the remaining ones were just blank.....that's what usually happens with the glitch.

I honestly don't think anyone reported it in this case.

It's really irritating isn't it, Mel. Probably a glitch as Teresa said, although who knows - there's a few nasty minded individuals around who seem intent on getting other peoples harmless posts removed.

I dont' think they've been deliberately whooshed Mel, it's a problem GR have had for ages. Long threads have a habit of eating themselves. First the posts turn up blank, then they all get deleted until the whole thread goes. Nobody knows why.

All I can suggest is you report it to GR, but it's unlikely they can bring it back sadly.

I have had a thread going for 1 year 9 months and today all the posts have gone. and the page numbers have shot up from 818 to 1625. Postings after 3pm today are appearing but the rest have been wooshed.
