I would want to know too Gwen, but maybe he told them not to contact you, as he was ok (well walking wounded) and he didn't want you upset.

People do things in different ways, what we consider important others don't always feel like that. I am sure had things been worse, and he had to stay in hospital, you would have been contacted.

Hope he heals soon. Thank heavens it wasn't much worse.

Hi
understand, its not so much the rushing to someone side, not always possible, or even as some others have pointed out nescessarry but as you point out you should have been informed so you could make your mind up as to what was best,

Maybe it was for the best reasons Dizzi, maybe they were protecting you from worry. But like you i would have wanted to know. I hope he recovers OK.

Hi Dizzi,

(((hugs)))) for you, it must be quite a shock. Have you asked him why? Maybe he didn't want to worry you, maybe he didn't want to be fussed over :)

The main thing is that he is safe.

Take care hun xxx

I understand not wanting to worry people, or wanting to protect them. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I understand it. ;)

About 15 years ago I visited my nan when she was in her 90s. I ended up telling her a bit about the problems with the man in my life, who I was trying to get rid of - the drugs, the drink, the stealing ...

I'm sure everybody would have said not to tell an old lady things like that. But she'd been through it too with my grandfather - the drink, the gambling, the other women ...

And that gave her a chance to tell someone about it. Because I would understand, and not just think she was badmouthing my grandfather.

If we don't talk to people about things in their lives, we deny them the chance to talk about them, and they may need to do that.

I'm glad he's okay, and that you do know about it!

Does seem a bit unfair that they didn't tell you Dizzi, If it was my son I would have wanted to have been told.

At least he is safe, which I guess is the most important thing!

I don't know, Gwen. They should have done so.
