Julie, I thought the idea was for people to bring things for the baby, not to go away with party bags. The whole thing is getting out of hand, same as with children's parties.

You could do little things like:
Bath bombs
Bath sponge
hand creams
bath gels
lindt chocolate balls
etc...
to dress it up you could buy some organza cut out circle shapes Bundle up the goodies in the middle of the circle and tie with a pretty contrasting ribbon

hi all
thanks for kind replys

myself id have been inclined to think of just a thank you card,
mind you i didnt have the energy or inclination to have party when i was expecting our 2, lol

i thought the idea was to take pressies,
thats why i think it would be better to give her all what ive put aside and made now, rather than wait till arrival of little chap,

will have to let you all know how knackered nannie gets on at this party shower,
lmao

I think her friends would probably rather she saved the money for the new baby and his sister, so a little thank you card would be enough I am sure.

I think you could make up a parcel with some of the things you have made Julie, and give her the rest later on, especially if she has some down days nearer the birth and needs distracting or cheering up.

Hope it goes well, your daughter is very lucky to have such a good Mum

Julie

Ive never heard of a party bag for the guests....unless it's for them to fill lol.

I made my son and his wife a 'cake'. It was made of nappies rolled up with an elastic bands make them into a circle and fill in gaps with goodies.
I gave them theirs for xmas and made it more of an xmas cake ie gold ribbon round the three tiers and put some sweets and things for them in it.
I bought three cream towels and wrapped them round each teir, held by a big pin. you can drape something over the pin or as I did tie the bow.

If you google Nappy cake you will see what I mean.

I filled mine with. spoons,toothpaste/brush...thinking ahead lol. Sun cream, nappy cream.little tubs for food, bath and body lotion, sponges etc etc etc. I then stuck a little football teddy on top for my son lol.
I used first size napppies on bottom, then next sizi in middle.
A bottle brush and a couple of wooden scewers held in in place.

I wrapped it up in celaphane with a bow and it looked great.

had lovely afternoon and evening at daughters house with her and grandaughter
the party was good,
we had laugh,

im now called likle nannie by babes, she came into kitchen and asked, can i help you my likle nannie,
then towards end of evening got very over excited and jumped on me pushing me backwards so she could lay on me giggling her head off,

they are so precious at that age, and so much fun
but dont help nannies get back up, lol

daughter had some lovely pressies of her friends,
and i managed to get a baby box to put all knitted stuff, and crochet blankies in for expectant little fella,

daughter put nail files , lippy, body cream, and facecloths in the party bags,
and little darling had one too,
