The Thought never crossed my mind, but having bought various things for Friend who suffers from them ( Even Some Special Glasses ) I thought it would be of some help or interest. Take Care.No need to Grovel,A Bottle of "Laphroaig" will do. **M**.:o)))> pmsl.

I wasn't 'having a go' honest....lol It's just that living with it and the catastrophic consequences (I had my first paralysing attack when I was driving!!!) I take it so seriously.

Hi Merlin,

I read it and in all honesty this guy is only a GP. Migraine sufferers need to be seen by a neurologist.

There are so many different triggers, these have to be identified first, avoiding those will help initially. Triptans aren't suitable for everyone. Dothiepin is very affective but can lead to stomach bleeds. Sumatriptin via nasal spray is the quickest way to administer the drug.

Don't forget there are sufferers like me who have NO headaches but become paralysed! When my blood pressure plummets the blood supply to my brain stem is interrupted as well as the unknown (but possibly linked to hormones) events - still classed as migraneous hemiplegia.

Sufferers NEED to see a specialist for a complete examination and to have their drugs and effects carefully monitored.

Just in case anyone is interested, I read an article in the "Daily Mail "Today in their " Good Health" Pages 46 and 47 about migrains and the things you can do to alleviate them.Very interesting to those who suffer from them. **M**.
