Am so fed up with the asbo brats in my street, I dont understand why people make excuses for them, they're just scum who choose to be like they are. They werent battered or neglected as children. Having snowballs thrown at my window tonight and the padlock has been ripped off my gate, kids taking a short cut across my front garden to my neighbours house where one of the chavs lives. :-(((((

Fairly quiet judging by what I have to put up with.

My front gate was ripped out the wall.

so sorry for both of you, we lived in a small town a few yrs ago, we were in a terraced row of 5, we had music 24/7 practically shaking the house, next door was a woman who slept all day and screamed and banged her doors all night shouting at her dogs that they were grounded!!!, complaints did nothing the council wanted to do surveilance from our house but they finished work at 530pm, health and saftey told me to ring police police told me to contact h&s luckily we moved into a better area i know how ill it can make you xx

I think a lot is down to parenting.
I went to Pizza Hut yesterday afternoon and there were quite a few women in there with their little brats.
They allowed them to run around the restaurant between the tables, climb over chairs on the empty tables, run riot at the ice cream dispenser, and generally be a bloody nuisance.
When i told a couple of them to go away and behave themselves while they were in a restaurant, their lovely lazy mothers had the bloody cheek to say,"They are only children".
Exactly, I replied and bloody horrible ones as well, you should be teaching them how to behave, not sitting there allowing them to run riot.

What is it with some of these mothers.? no wonder we have such problems with kids nowadays.......the brats were all between say 8 to 12 ish..

Does make you wonder what some parents are like when I have seen a man pushing a push chair, with child in it, and he was drinking beer from a can.

Glitter baby, I see that every day sadly, even on the school run. Parents spending their money on fags and drink. People might say thats their business, but when its 8.30am and the kids are filthy, its awful. I have to share an alley leading to the back gardens with my neighbour, her teenage sons think its funny to bang the alley gate against my house as hard as they can at 2am. Yes, I did go out and give a piece of my mind, the result was she told everyone on the street not to speak to me. Unbelievable.

Christine, I bet you were over the moon about him being sent down. Ive never heard of a protection team, I rent from a housing association and they just say they cant evict anyone as its against their human rights! They also say Ive no proof, I feel like they're laughing at me. Im trying to move but Im not a priority so it wont happen, and no-one would ever exchange with me. But then I think, WHY should I move? Apart from the chav scum its nice here. I might give this a go, thankyou Christine.

I had a thread up earlier this year about some of the problems I have had.

One copper suggested I take photographs of the kids responsible. Think that would make the problems worse. Bad enough the snow balls, stones, eggs, liguid etc thrown against the windows but really do not want it escalate further and get a brick at the window.

Ignoring it does not make the problem go away either. Seems the kids take it in turns.

Definitely the parents!!
I find it goes in waves around here - the kids are pains in the ar*e - then (eventually) grow up! At the moment (touch wood) it's fairly quiet.
I had to laugh the other day. I was at the bus stop and recognised one of my ex 'charges' ( a right horror at school - now in his 20's) from when I was a LSA, with his mum.
Some kids were being a pain - and the ex 'charge' was most upset. He wanted to go over and tell them to behave - his mum said 'They're only kids' - he said 'But they're disturbing people'.
I feel I did some good!!! LOL

*edit* I've found using worse language than they use has a shocking effect on them!! PMSL
