l have a singer, l bought it from their website about 2-3yrs ago. It cost approx £70 - £80. Its a basic one and its fine:o))) Just look on their website! |

Given that prices range from £50 to £5, 000 we need to know what your budget is. Clearly a £50 machine is not going to do an awful lot and is more likely to be confined to the skip as soon as it packs up. Around £250 seems to be the going rate these days for a decent machine. Have a look in John Lewis - they have a wide range. Ideal World also have some decent models from time to time - one of their presenters is also an accomplished machinist,. |

Aldi often have very reasonably priced sewing machines. I bought one about £40 last year for daughter-in-law and I think our store has some in their reduced section just now at £29! |

Hi Helen, are you near a Dunhelm Mills? They had some Janome machines for less than £50 last time I was in. I was tempted to buy my Grandaughters one each, you can't go wrong with this make, it is what John Lewis stores make. |
