Dizzi, good morning. Your garden is not small, and many, in the modern houses would like that much, but I know what you mean. Mine is not much bigger, but I cram it to the gills, and have different sections for different types of plants.
If you wanted an Apple particularly, and have to grow it in a tub, you should have bought one of the Ballerina variety, that are particularly suitable for tubs.
Yesterday I was in the garden centre looking for tomato seeds, and the OH bought six fruit trees, but they were for the allotment. We had two types of cherry, an apple,a pear, plum and apricot.
For us, it is getting to that time of year again, and I am dying to get my hands into a bag of compost.
Happy gardening

I have an orange tree that i propagated myself from a pip. Its about 10 years old now and has been potted up in ever bigger pots as it has grown its now about 4 ft tall with a span of about 3ft, I keep it cropped back. BUT the canopy does make it top heavy in the wind and several times it has blown over and the pot broken , The last time was winter of 2008 and we thought we would have to abandon it as its too heavy now to manoeuvre around and we had difficulty in re potting Managed it with a bit of root loss BUT we had to pay £89.99 !!! for a big enough pot for it
If this pot gets broken then the tree is in the green recycling bin !!!

Dont think your OH would be too happy paying for a £90 pot for a £3.99 plant lol
