It's not just hard work deleting one's posts, it's pointless!

And it leaves threads looking motheaten. There are threads I like to look back at for a giggle or just to read nice things people have said, and if somebody's gone through and deleted their posts, the whole thing sometimes makes no sense.

Threads don't take up room on one's computer. They're on the site owner's server. (And if you delete your own posts in a thread, the thread is still there anyhow.)

For actual genealogy threads, who knows whether some day, a distant rellie might do a search here and find your thread - and you? If you delete it, it won't happen.

For important threads you want to be able to find easily, click the "Bookmark This" button up above as you're reading them, and then they'll be in the "My bookmarks" list, just above "My threads" over on the left.

Thanks, Bob, sounds a bit too much like hard work at the moment.

You have to visit every thread (in MY threads)in turn and find your post and use the edit/add/delete button at the bottom of your post,
however they dont occupy ANY room on your computer, they are all held on GR's.
trouble with deleting posts is that they can make threads a little disjointed.....

On a thread there is about posting on old threads, and i said well no one shoud post more than one thread on a subject, as if you go into My Threads which is under Tools on the left hand side of screen you can find your thread.

Well some have checked and one has over 800 pages.

I was wondering who has the most pages, so come on say how many you have.

Mine is only 13 pages.
